(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) – Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity (AEPi), the world’s leading Jewish college fraternity, has hired Eitan Troyansky to serve as coordinator of the AEPi Antisemitism Response Center (ARC) to help undergraduate members respond to antisemitism and to promote positive programs on campuses.
Announced last summer, the AEPi ARC is the result of a partnership with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and AEPi International. The AEPi ARC empowers student leaders with knowledge, skills, and resources to recognize and combat antisemitism as well as provides a centralized system for reporting and tracking antisemitic incidents on campuses, and jointly develops initiatives aimed at promoting public awareness.
Troyansky is a 2018 graduate of the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign where he was heavily involved in Jewish life and Israel education, taking on multiple student leadership roles with Hillel and StandWithUs and participating in two successful campaigns to defeat BDS referendums on campus. After working at AIPAC and the Jewish United Fund, Troyansky worked in consulting until joining the AEPi ARC team.
In his new role, Troyansky is responsible for working with undergraduate AEPi members on the fraternity’s 150+ campuses in the United States, Canada, the U.K. and Israel, to help them report incidents of antisemitism, to advocate for Jewish students and alumni and to oppose anti-Jewish and anti-Israel actions on campuses.
The AEPi ARC is managed by Ethan White, AEPi’s Howard M. Lorber Director of Jewish and Leadership Programming. White, a 2018 graduate of the University of Delaware, has worked for AEPi International since graduation and has led the fraternity’s Jewish and leadership programming department for the last year.
“Ensuring that Jewish students are safe on college campuses today and that pro-Jewish and pro-Israel points of view can be expressed is more critical than ever,” said Rob Derdiger, AEPi’s CEO. “Our partnership with ADL has helped create the AEPi ARC and allows us to support our student leaders with the resources and training they need to be able to advocate for the Jewish community.”
Since October 7, the AEPi ARC has worked on 150 campuses to track and combat antisemitism and/or anti-Israel incidents. More than 7,000 petition signatures have been sent to university administrators and elected officials to demonstrate opposition to anti-Jewish campus climates, including BDS resolutions.
“Both Eitan and Ethan have been instrumental in helping to combat the current campus climate of antisemitism and we are looking forward to continuing to work with our students, campus administrators and Jewish community leadership to improve the environment for Jewish students on campuses,” said Derdiger.
