ALPHA EPSILON PI FOUNDATION HIRES BARRY WEINBERG AS MIDWEST DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Barry Weinberg, an experienced professional with more than 40 years’ experience fundraising for a variety of nonprofit organizations, has been hired by the Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi) Foundation to manage alumni and donor relationships throughout the Midwest region of the United States. He joins a growing team of AEPi Foundation professionals who work with AEPi alumni and other Jewish community stalwarts to fund AEPi’s efforts to develop leaders for the Jewish community on college campuses and throughout North America and Israel.

Weinberg, a 1978 graduate of the University of Illinois and AEPi’s Delta chapter, has had a diverse and successful professional life. After a successful career in leadership roles in magazine publishing, Barry became an internet pioneer, co-founded one of the first consumer magazine websites, created digital marketing partnerships with scores of brands and led the growth of five start-up companies that were acquired by Disney, Microsoft, News Corp and others. He served on boards of charitable organizations and associations, including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, a breast cancer organization and a digital marketing association and created a highly targeted digital marketing and e-commerce program that has raised hundreds of millions of dollars in online donations for leading charities such as American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Arthritis Foundation, and dozens more over the past 18 years. Barry brings decades of fundraising experience including development of individual donors, foundations and corporations and the creation of multiple sponsorships and other partnerships.
